About Cromatic

Cromatic started out many years ago as a concept between friends who shared a mutual obsession for motion picture film, aka celluloid.

Myself, João Homem and Filmmaker/Director Raphael “Zectrix” Regis spent countless late nights deep diving into what makes motion picture film look so special and unique and how we could recreate that feel within our own projects who couldn’t afford to shoot in that medium.

This embarked us on a long discovery journey. We spent years looking into various studies of film stocks, lab processing, printing, colour science and pixel peeped endlessly our own projects side by side with real film. All with the intention of capturing the organic and emotional response you have when you watch something actually shot on film stocks.

Eventually we decided on creating our own personalized film assets, and that’s where Cromatic was born. What was initially intended as a creation of filmic assets for our own personal use evolved into a platform where like-minded creatives share their own personal tools, assets and knowledge, all spanning multiple creative mediums.

Here we strive to build a community of likeminded individuals all sharing the same passion. The creative journey. A love for the process, and an openness to sharing about it.

Cromatic was founded to bring you authentic and original in house made products, all of which we have built to use ourselves to better our own workflows. The real deal, from professionals highly regarded in their respective fields.
